چکیده

Emerging evidence indicates that the predictability of signals early in life may influence developing brain. This study examines links between a novel indicator maternal mood dysregulation, entropy, and child neurodevelopmental outcomes. Associations prenatal entropy neurodevelopment were assessed 2 longitudinal cohorts. Maternal was measured several times over pregnancy beginning as 15 weeks' gestation. Shannon's applied to distributions mothers' responses on questionnaires. Child cognitive language development evaluated at 6-9 years age. Higher associated with lower scores age expressive These associations persisted after adjusting for pre postnatal levels other relevant sociodemographic factors. Our findings identify predictor neurodevelopment. Characterizing components addition level severity or valence further our understanding specific processes by which shapes development. Maternal prenatal stress is associated with the infant intestinal microbiota.

Maternal prenatal stress has been often associated with infant physical development and health, as well as psychological functioning and behavior. However, the mechanisms underlying these relations remain elusive. The goal of the present study was to prospectively investigate the development of the intestinal microbiota as a potential pathway linking maternal prenatal stress and infant health. ...

Prenatal maternal depression is associated with offspring inflammation at 25 years: a prospective longitudinal cohort study

Animal studies and a handful of prospective human studies have demonstrated that young offspring exposed to maternal prenatal stress show abnormalities in immune parameters and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis function. No study has examined the effect of maternal prenatal depression on offspring inflammation and HPA axis activity in adulthood, nor the putative role of child maltreatme...

Fetal Growth Is Associated with Maternal Fasting Plasma Glucose at First Prenatal Visit

AIMS Fasting plasma glucose (FPG) concentration measured at the first prenatal visit is a predictor of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM); however, whether this test is indicative of fetal growth has not been clarified. Thus, the purpose of this study was to determine whether birth weight and birth length were related to FPG levels at the first prenatal visit. MATERIALS AND METHODS Research ...

Maternal mosaicism is a significant contributor to discordant sex chromosomal aneuploidies associated with noninvasive prenatal testing.

BACKGROUND In the human fetus, sex chromosome aneuploidies (SCAs) are as prevalent as the common autosomal trisomies 21, 18, and 13. Currently, most noninvasive prenatal tests (NIPTs) offer screening only for chromosomes 21, 18, and 13, because the sensitivity and specificity are markedly higher than for the sex chromosomes. Limited studies suggest that the reduced accuracy associated with dete...
